You’re not the one to tell us what to wear
You’re not the one to tell us where not to go
You’re not the one to tell us when to go
You’re not the one to tell us how to behave
You’re not the one to tell us that we are wrong
You’re not the one to tell us how to live
You’re not the one to tell us who we are
We don’t need any of your stupid reasons
No, don’t say that you’re just concerned about us
No, don’t say that you are saying it for our safety
No, don’t say anything
Don’t defend yourself for what you’ve stopped us from
Instead, help us this way
Just change the way you think
Don’t just say you are protective, act like one
Don’t point out at our dresses, change your vision
Don’t just comment and walk away when a girl is in distress
Don’t be heartless when a girl is raped
Don’t laugh at when she is helpless
Just stand be her when she needs you
I’m not asking you for anything more than you can do
‘As a human’
She could be your friend
She could be your wife
She could be your sister
She could be your daughter
You never know
Restrictions won’t fulfill the purpose
You will!
Make her feel safe
She’s not some kinda object
She’s a human
Like you.
Do it for humanity!
👍Women are incredible !!
Such a well worded poem. Good job! Hopefully we’ll soon have a society that would start respecting women instead of blaming them for every harm that is done to them.
