Are we moving towards a society that isn’t male-default? I believe YES. As we see, the times have changed and it’s not just a man’s world anymore. Women are making an impact in every field and they are leading in every way. There is no place where we find women any less than men. Women were always supposed to work at home and now there is a slight change in that thinking. I won’t say that society has curbed all the stereotypes but they have also started taking baby steps towards change. Although, there are still some people in our society who believe in the predominant patriarchal norms. Women are expected to work at home and take care of the family while a man is supposed to be the breadwinner but there’s no denying that the awareness about equality and gender neutrality is prevalent in today’s time too. When a woman is seen doing a job, people start assuming that a working woman won’t be able to manage her personal and professional life and will be bad in either of them. And some people encourage and support women’s empowerment. Take leadership from women and acknowledge their work and efforts. Both misogyny and feminism are there at present. Without question and beyond doubt, we are moving towards a society that isn’t male default but certainly, we have a long way to go. The journey is long but we know the destination is worth it.
