“SHE OVERCOME EVERYTHINH THAT WAS MEANT TO DESTROY HER”
India, a modern country, is rapidly becoming a world power, but the struggle for a decent life among half of India’s population continues. Regardless of class, caste, or education level, women are not safe. In modern society, for a long time, women have been exploited in all areas of their lives, whether physically, socially, psychologically, or economically. In modern Indian society, the media has widely reported multiple causes of sexual and moral violence, many of which have not been explored. Although this kind of violence against women, sexual harassment and exploitation of women is not new, its traces can be found in the history of ancient India. Women are facing challenges in all walks of life, including employment, access to health care, or property rights.
Even in the 21st century, the status of women is the same as in ancient times. Although discrimination still exists, this situation is even more tragic in rural areas. Even today, the situation of women in most rural areas of the country is still regrettable. In fact, in our country, there is a country that can boast that it has not been moved by violence against women. In most families, women wake up at four in the morning and do not start working until late at night, doing their best to do housework. Even so, they have not received the attention they deserve. Sometimes they also suffer physical and mental torture. Today, we can see the dream of settling on Mars, but the reality is that even today, half of the country’s population is still subject to violence in some way, whether in rural or urban areas, from elite families or normal Family women, women in one form or another. Suffered violence. The child is not born, if everyone knows her scientific reasons, then in this case, the woman should also be responsible. Exploitation does not stop there; they are also discriminated against for many other reasons. They have no right to choose to marry their relatives or choose their spouse of their choice. Even in terms of property, land, etc., they are forced to deprive women of their rights. Indians who bear the torch of cultural life through self-sacrifice, physical and mental resilience, and compassion are becoming more and more eloquent, as this monotonous decline proves that girls are malnourished, unequal healthcare, and access to resources. Inequality and deprivation of property rights are reasonable, reserved for women who traditionally admire beauty.

DIFFERENT FORMS OF WOMEN EXPLOITATION IN PRESENT SOCIETY: 1-Domestic Violence
    2-Female Infanticide Feticide
    3-Dowry

In the 21st century, with all the development and the spread of education, women’s empowerment gained traction like no other thing, but have we really created a utopian society, a safe nest for our women? The answer would be a reassuring no. in India where the women are revered in the form of goddesses, the everyday struggle for them continues as usual. Right in her home, be she a daughter, a mother, or a sister, the discrimination starts, and she is made to feel like a second-class citizen. Either she is not allowed to take education or if she is allowed, then that comes with its own terms and conditions. What o wear, where to go, what kind of career choices be made, you name it, and it’s there. Even when she gets married, her wings are clipped the very next day and she has to say goodbye to her dreams.
Even if with struggle or if a woman is privileged enough to step out of her home, the struggle continues for her. She has to, unwillingly, absorb the daily dose of eve-teasing and harassment, given by males who think that it is their right to treat them like that. The kind of mental trauma that a woman goes through in her lifetime due to thus cannot be explained in words. Article 39 of our constitution, in the form of the directive principle of state policy, encourages a reduction in equality between the two genders, but they are just trophy words that no one takes seriously.
When she reaches her workplace with all that struggle that started right at her home, she is invited to even more struggle. Firstly she has to agree to such terms and conditions at the workplaces which reduces her to a slave in a desperate attempt to get a job. Then she has to take care of harassment, which can be physical or sexual. Even after the passage of landmark judgment like Vishakha vs State, which created guidelines for creating safer workplace for women, nothing concrete has been done. She continues to face harassment for free, with no fault of her, just because the patriarchal setup has made it so mundane and common, it is not even considered as some wrong by those who do it periodically.
And lastly, back at her home, where he is married, she has to keep her struggle on. Either they are made to work like home servants in the name of her religious kartavya to serve her husband, or she is burnt alive just because she didn’t bring enough dowry with her to satisfy the greed of her in kaws.
Now one may ask as to what can be done to effectively end this nonsense. The root cause is that we haven’t made our women, or rather not given our women to become independent. She is so dependant on the patriarchal system that she ends up taking up the kind of discriminatory treatment that she gets. If we make them educated and self-dependent, then half of the problem will be solved. And to do that, we have to attack the patriarchal setup in our society, that has no place in 2021. Charity begins at home and we have to teach our boys at home that they don’t get any privilege just because they are men and they need to respect women.

    Women Exploitation in Modern Society
Since the ancient times, women have always been exploited, considered less and given a lower status in humanity. Everything around the world kept upgrading – be it technology, politics, infrastructure etc. but the mindset of people regarding women is still not enhanced towards equality in competence with men.
Throughout human history, gender roles have often defined and limited women’s activities and opportunities. India is a growing country, it has been developing in a lot of sectors rapidly but the women in our society are continued to be exploited.
“No country can ever truly flourish if it stifles the potential of it’s women and deprives itself of the contribution of half it’s citizen” —Michelle Obama
We all have always been hearing various quotes about lifting up women, giving them opportunities. But do everyone of us actually try to uplift women? To bring them forward, as equal as men? I think, no. Most of all has been a part of the patriarchal society that inheritedly have mindset of men supermacy over women. Even today, in this modern era where everyone claims to treat their daughters as equal to their sons, daughters still face alot more restrictions than their sons, brothers or husbands. Many of them are still killed even before being born, just because of the mindset of some people that says “daughters bring shame to the family”.
‘Sit properly’, ‘behave nicely’ , ‘wear decent clothes’, ‘ don’t stay out for long’ etc.etc. These are some famous idioms very frequently heard by women/girls in the society commonly by their own family members. Even after being a part of this modern world, some women out their are still facing violence whether within their own houses or in the community.
Women by far have earned many rights courtesy which they are considered as equal to every other human being on this planet. But these political rights have frightfully failed in changing people’s mindset in respecting their women. Early sources indicate that women were considered as sexual slaves for men, men have always been given the privilege to use women for their sexual pleasures as much as they want. Till now, in the present modern era women are mercilessly used by men for their sexual needs.
Women around are not safe in their own country. It’s a shame to say that as a country we fail to protect our women who are hypothetically worshipped in the temples but brutally raped and murdered in the streets. Infact, their own houses have become a doom where they’re immensely violated and are threatened to keep their mouth shut for speaking anything about their sufferings. Even after being disrespected, they’re asked to respect their brothers, husband and fathers for the sake of society which, although, never treated a woman as a human. Rape, harrasment, sexual abuse, domestic violence are some very common acts mostly faced by women on a daily basis.
Moreover, lack of women-respect, lack of women empowerment and patriarchal system is responsible for women exploitation. Women can only be considered equal when the society is ready to change their patriarchal mindset and start respecting women.

Modern society is just a term but in reality, it is not the modern one rather it is dominated by male chauvinism which is one of the social evil persisting till the 21st century. Women have been oppressed and discriminated against in different ways since birth. The exploitation of women includes not only physical but mental, emotional, and social torture is growing rampantly. Even after so long struggle for dignity women still far behind. Women are facing problems in every sphere of life whether employment, access to health care, and property rights. In the ancient period, male chauvinism was found such as Devdasi, Polygamy, Sati System, etc. Even in Modern times, these practices persisting. Women are always picturized that they are weak they need the support of the man and has to obey him. during her childhood she has to obey her father, after her marriage her husband and if unfortunately, his husband dies she has followed her son’s rule. If a woman is working late at night in the office people look at her with strange eyes and if she even tries to cross limits or exceed her husband’s argument she is beaten brutally.
In your day-to-day life, we often hear and read news about women exploitation but even after so many legal action and law we can’t abolish them. In our Constitution of India, we have Articles which meant for women’s protection and upliftment of the society (Article 14, 15, 16, 39, 42, 243). Even after a long fight for justice few of the crimes have been recognized such as Adultery, Child Marriage, Female Feticide, Tracking and Prostitution, Domestic Violence, Eve Teasing, Acid Attacks, Fraudulent Marriage, Exploitation at workplaces, Rape, Murder, and Dowry. But these provisions are not yet so helpful and need to be stricter so that a woman who is playing many roles in her life during different stages such as a daughter, sister and then mother and so on can live in this world with full dignity.
United Nations entity for gender equality and the empowerment of women is one such global initiative formed in 2010 which not only motivation countries to accomplish the goal of gender equality but also inspire women to fight for their rights. If we look into international goals, we have sustainable development goals (SDGs) whose motto is ‘illusive growth’ it not only works on global causes but in eradiation of physical barriers for women community.
If we see the situation of women in this pandemic we will find that it has been more jeopardizing. Domestic violence cases have been increases rapidly according to international surveys. Girls have to contribute to domestic chores if they are at home this leads to the education gap. They are being exploited every second by snatching their rights and dreams. If we look into the case study of Northeast tribal states, we will find that the society is matriarchal and cases of exploitation of women are zero.
Since the government has launched many schemes regarding women’s education and development such as Beti Bacho Beti Padho, Sukanya Yojana, etc. but the social evil which is prevailing in the country is not letting people know about these schemes. If we see the ratio of birth will still find that in many backward states, the ratio gap is wide. So with this, we can conclude that education is one of the weapons to fight this immoral practice. Encouraging women to take the stand and fight for their rights and achieve the freedom to stand in this world. As if we educate a girl she will educate her whole generation.

Women constitute almost half of humanity, yet they have remained subservient to
men in many fields. It is really very unfortunate that women have played a secondary
and marginal role in the male dominated society till now. However, women of today
ran’t accept their exploitation lying down. They have launched a vigorous movement
for safeguarding their rights and interests. They are clamouring for women
empowerment. They know that real power lies in money and policy making. That is
why they are demanding reservation of 33% for women in jobs as well as representation
in state assemblies and national parliament. At present women representatives are
few and far between. They can be counted on finger tips. Men outnumber women in
jobs too. Harassment of working women results from the dominant position of the
male bosses and the fear of economic insecurity of the female workers.
Some conservative sections of the society regard women as weak and inferior to men
and hence unsuitable for outdoor work. These people are highly mistaken. Modern
women are fully equipped with education, expertise, confidence, self-respect and
ndependence. A glance at the results of the public examinations reveals the superior
rank and pass percentage of girls. Then why discriminate against them in jobs or
Representation in legislation? If women can run homes efficiently, they can manage
affairs of the state with the same precision. Reservation for women should be
approved in the Constitution by passing a bill to this effect. This measure will end
ue marginalisation of women in the supreme policy making bodies and pave the way
or their emancipation, enlightenment and empowerment.

Do you think women empowerment does not mean encouraging women in society, but it means helping them stand without challenging the patriarchal norms in society?

One thing hasn’t changed for years in the new India, that is, women’s exploitation. In every culture, women are exploited in more than one way. One might not be astonished to learn that one side of the world may have privileges in one sector, the other may not have the same. One of the other things is always missing the picture.

In the modern chakra view of society, women’s exploitation does not limit till sexual abuse in the work and domestic surfaces. It goes on to unequal payment, mental abuse, physical confinement. Time and again, safety and rules and regulations are promised to women globally, but one fails to deliver the promises. In South America, abortion is legally banned. It prohibits the right of women to make decisions. Not before 2015, women were allowed to vote in South Arabia. In India, every four minutes, a woman is raped, and yet, many cases remain unregistered. Across the world, women’s exploitation seems to become a habit of patriarchs in any or every other form. Some may dedicate their power to religious premises, while others may do it in bureaucracy.

When we talk about women’s exploitation in modern society, we cannot stay confined to sexual abuse because there is more to it. In a world where everyone is climbing the ladders of success without looking behind, women stick to one place for years. Even in the 21st century, women are more likely to be confined in the domestic boundaries than men, despite promising equal rights.

Many of you must have heard about the common ways of exploitation, which are rape, domestic violence, sexual harassment, prenatal sex selection, female infanticide, and acid attacks. But with modern society, there are modern ways of attacking too. Do you know even online premises proudly practice gender-based violence? Do you know that mob practices are prevalent for women as well? Have you heard about reproductive coercion and obstetric violence? Reproductive coercion is not a reported crime by many countries globally, yet it is an act of violence. It is a birth control practice that may or may not be adopted by a woman’s will. On the other hand, obstetric violence is a prevalent practice in Latin America and African countries. It is another form of rape, only it is a much worse form of physical abuse and takes place with newborns or females below the age of puberty.

Some of the violations are mentioned below as per research studies.
35-40% of women experience abusive behavior in their past or current relationships.
More than 600 million women were married as children, and most of the women were married before they turned 15.
The female genital mutation is practiced on more than three million women every year.
One is a female in every four human trafficking victims (children).

If we keep counting, there are probably infinite measures in which a woman is exploited. As we have discussed exploitation in various measures, one thing is yet left to discuss! The honor killings in the name of women still take place across the world, especially in India. More than a thousand people in India are killed every year in the name of honor killing, that is, the protection of daughters and sisters.

It is high-old-time that people should understand that women can make their decisions. One must note that women must not be compared to men for the decision-making scenarios. As much as any human, women are allowed to live and take a stand for themselves in every field. Despite the practices that are followed for centuries, now is the time to stop and make new practices. The country must evolve with changing times because the more these practices continue, the more the force of empowerment reduces.

    WOMEN EXPLOITATION!
In this very world we have different prefessions, different hobbies, different mindsets but one thing is common in every society. ‘Women Exploitation’ for every woman, whether she is from some upper class society or some down cast, aged or child, working or non-working, from modern society or the ancient times, each of them from each of our houses experienced it.
And it’s not only about sexual assault, we get our daughters killed, some just want to turn down their daughter as she is to be believed as a burden.According to the data from UNICEF, in every 10 minutes an adolescent girl died as a result of violence. 1 in every 5 girls get sexually abused atleast one in her life.
So, is it enough shameful to you? O no, I guess you’re just going to blame women’s dresses, their dreams and so on. A slow clap for your #rape culture.
Oh! some of you are asking why these things happen to our female? Actually… Sorry but I can’t give you an exact answer and I guess none of us can. Some says it’s for illiteracy among society, but I can’t ensure that. Don’t we, literate people don’t pursue that? Ask to yourself.
Women and girls are continuously being objectified , hypersexualized . It can be in terms of entertainment, in some advertisement, in our work field. And what we’re doing? We’re accepting them freely, making them worth to money. Our media contributes to harmful gender stereotypes that often trivialize these violence.
In the same society, some places still consider women should not dream, they should be caged. Even some consider that women want to be raped.
Even we women just accept it that if a woman is getting better among male supremacy, there has to be something fishy.
Even we children don’t accept our mother’s dreams sometimes. For a father, it’s ok if he just travel and work in the name of feeding his family and that’s good but why we expect our mother to leave all of her dreams and just acknowledge our needs.
There’s even a theory like marital rape where husband don’t even consider her wife’s willing for intercourse. Our men society don’t even know to ask and to accept rejection. As a result there’s an increasing number of cases of acid attacks. And still that girl is victimized.
There’s not a single place where women feel safe all the time, not even in their houses. Some of their blood relatives are looking with a insane ideology. Outsiders are clutching them with their wolf eyes.
In some ancient society, there’s a culture where vagina is sewed at early age, leaving small hole for releasing period blood and pee. And this culture is passed down from female to female. That sew is only cut by her husband after marriage.
So all along, it’s the mindset which is flowing through generation to generation from the ending of vedic age till now. We snip every girl children by continuously reminding them, they are weaker, powerless. Just one wrong move and they’re gonna banish from earth.
But despite of all of the negativity, there’s some organizations who are ready to help girl children for securing their dreams, their right to live. There’s a mindset called feminism, of course you all know about that, who are trying continuously that our women can also feel safe whenever wherever they are, they should be approached with an equal sentiment as a man. And among all of these we want men to also think about it, cause men and women both are society and it can’t be changed alone.
And after all of these , if there’s still a confusion about why we’re being wild and screaming about equality, please go and talk to female of your family. Try to understand them. Do they feel safe whenever and wherever they are?

“There is no limit to what we as women can accomplish” – Michelle Obama.

Women, The most and very important part of the society yet looked down upon society. There are so many debates undergoing in the name of women. But the result to each debate is still unfixed. Women are the strongest pillar of this society, however they are treated in a most debated way. India is one of the most beautiful and secular nation, it is accompanied by the people of many diverse nationality and originality. Yet the concern over the women is same irrespective of their originality. From ancient time women’s are assigned a particular task and till up to date that work is only considered as the ideal work for a women. My concern over here is that irrespective of times if a women is asked to perform the same duty then why is it different for males. Why males sometime changes their course of duty with time. Is it eligible for a man to work as a cook in some restaurant because according to the society cooking is the work of female. Why being a chef of a particular restaurant or hotel is looked up as a pride work but women doing the office work is given names. Is this the gender equality that we all desire for or is this the mentality that can never be changed. If a women takes care of her family, then its her responsibility. But if the same work is done by a man it makes the man to get some kind of superiority or he is adored by the society as he is being considerate. Why the case is not same with women, even though all other aspects remains unchanged.
For a housewife, she needs to look after the house and her family and their needs, no compromise involved these are the particular rules set by the society, Then why for a working man the budget system is applied before planning anything. Is it not an exploitation of women’s hard work. The practice of mothers to search for their sons wife has almost many similar categories. Why always women are subjected to fit in for particular categories. The world in which we live consist of many advance technology but no one knows when there will be advances in peoples thinking. A women deciding her lifestyle is too modern yet man deciding his lifestyle is responsible and dedicated. A women planning her own marriage is too bold yet man planning his marriage is thoughtful. There are many yet and many hopes accompanied with in them of women’s. The modern world should be theoretically modern in all aspects but practically it is just confined to particular things and even while living in a modern world women are exploited to many old aged ideologies. With a change in world every thing is subjected to be changed however the thinking process remains the same for Indian society that judges a women on even a tiny little thing but will forgive a man for even his biggest crime. The constitution of India has provided many great rights to women yet man are succumb to object them not politically but publically. The most basic example of this is a women driving a car, after the age of 18 male and females are legally allowed to drive with their driving license. However when seem on road male avoids to drive near a female driver or some even hesitate to sit beside a women driver. Why, the most illogical reason ever, women’s are not good with their driving. I think, is there even a place in world where there is no exploitation of women. Or is there even a place where true gender equality exist like a real world full of real people and of course with a royal thinking.

Violence against women and girls may be a hidden global crisis which knows no boundaries of geography or culture. But, marginalized women, like poor women and girls, are presumably to experience it, most frequently at the hands of their husbands or partners.
Many perpetrators believe that violence toward women and girls is normal or appropriate behavior, supported by society. They feel that they will commit violence without disapproval.
Women in India continue to be exploited “from womb to the tomb”. While in womb, they continue to face the ever looming threat of foeticide and after birth, they are subject to various forms of violence and harassment at different parts of their lives, at the hands of various actors, starting from their parents to their husbands to the members of general public to their employers.
Nevertheless, the work environment is changing. Women, now, are gradually entering occupations that have hired mostly men. Infact, India has the world’s largest number of professionally qualified women, has more female doctors, surgeons, scientists and professors, but, even after all of this, the harsh reality is that the patriarchal mindset of our so called ‘modern society’ still places ‘wifehood’ and ‘motherhood’ as a woman’s most significant professions. Some may argue, that this thinking is not that relevant now a days, so let’s do a reality check. Suppose both parents in a family, are full time office goers, and return at home around the same time, but only the mother is expected to bear the mantle of completing all the household chores as soon as she is back. Why is it that we never ask our fathers what they decided to cook for the family on their way home? Quite modern, right?
A popular adage among the working women goes as ‘A women has to work Twice as hard to prove that she is half as good’ sums up quite appropriately the general bias of the society.Workplace violence, unequal pay, verbal abuse, bullying are just some of the few atrocities working women face on a daily basis.
Every single day, single women, young girls, mothers and ladies from all walks of life are being assaulted, molested and violated be it on the streets, conveyance or public spaces. While the ones who have gone through this “weep in disdain”, the rest fight their way to a basic life with dignity.
We don’t need to look at any statistics to confront the horrid truth. Stories of women from all over India being raped, beaten, killed appear right before our eyes, everyday.
Domestic violence, dowry death, sex trafficking, you just name it, we have lakhs of ‘pending’ cases that drag for even decades, with the victim not even getting proper justice.
Though some initiatives like G-auto model of Ahmedabad and Pink Auto initiative of Govt of Odisha do provide some protection, but we still have a long way to go before we shed this dubious distinction of being one of the most unsafe places for women.
We can change the harmful beliefs at the core of this problem. What was learned can be unlearned. It is time for us all, women, men, girls, boys and key public actors to finish violence against women and girls.

We can see any era, few things had always remain same, the culture and thinking of society. The major reason why people had very false thinking about women is that people relate the culture and and religions believes without full knowledge about there religion. We cannot blame the culture only, but also what we as society teach the young ones. Society has always told boys that it’s ok to be violent and to women they teach its best to be tolerent. Now this thing had became a part of the culture as it has being practiced from a long time. But in our religion its a sin to treat a woman like she had been treated for this whole time. Our religion treat women as a Godess but most importantly every living being should be treated equally. But what society says, it’s a whole different thing. India is not the only country where all these thing happens.
A girl is a child who is not safe inside the womb and outside the womb as well.
This is true. When it comes to discrimination, safety, allegations, cheap thinking age of female doesn’t matter. A girl child is first taught to do household work, a teenage girl is told to stay in her limits, a woman is told to tolerate all the abuses, a old women is told that you are useless. So no matter what is the age of a female, which place she came from a rural or the urban areas, a morden or from an orthodox family there is something that makes a female think that what is her identity. And when we females try to find it, people including our family, parents, sometimes friends they make us feel that you should not try to find who you are, just accept what your parents, society, culture want you to be. But when it comes to a male he has his own identity just because, “nothing special he is also a human like a female” but still they get the right to be violent, dominant, disrespectful towards anyone they want, regardless whether it’s there parents, wife, elder. Why? Because society, culture thinks that they earn well, they are more safe in this outside world then women, they are more smart, and they are muscular so they can fight. These are all the basic reasons why male is considered the dominant gender in society. Why women is considered weak? Because she is not muscular, smart, and at the end of the dayher work is to get married give birth and take care of child and family. Now let’s just compare. Women gives birth after carrying 1,2 kg inside her body for 9 months and give a painful birth, so definitely she is stronger. Since childhood she is kept around the four wall, she has no experience of outside world, but still she is taught in whom you can trust and whom you cannot. She don’t earn because she do all the household work, without complains, holidays, 24 hours shift, you can’t even afford to pay her for her service. But after all sacrifice, criticism, discrimination, disrespect if she ask for her rights, or talk about her dreams, choices, etc then she is a bad blood for not only for the society but also for her own parents. This is the most heartbreaking and disturbing thing that parents trust everything that they user from others but they don’t trust there own child, if she gets into a problem some will help her but everyparent is scared to help her, that what society will think or say. Even though they are morden, still this thought will come into there mind at least for once. Since starting she thinks that her parents are her well wisher but, once she came to know the reality she gets a mental breakdown which makes her do whatever others say, because she thinks when my own parents, family thinks like this. They can’t wear what they want, they can’t go alone where they want, they need to follow what the society and there parents say. Women is not a object who people what to be the way they like. They have there own identity.
In conclusion we should start changing ourselves as we are the part of society, start speaking against this exploitation of women, if you are a women be an example to others, a bold speaker and a successful women.
