Whether it’s before 19 th century or after, women sre always vulnerable even in their own home, then how can we expect to be safe at their workplace? It’s the shameful patriarchal norms going on our society. Women were usually not allowed to go outside and even some people see it as a serious crime for women to go outside. It’s insisted that it is their fault and thus they are provoking rapist and welcome rape in their own desire.
However as we know that being educated and getting a job for being financially independent is not the last thing for women empowerment, even you can say it as a primary step. Why?
Because after this, the real struggle get started. Men , with their wolf eyes, will scrutinized your body. From unwilling touch to sex threat you’ll experience it all.
And atlast you’ll get to meet plenty of men and the insects of our society, who make you believe that your decision about yourself is totally wrong.
Again, if that’s not it , you have to experience rape and even death by your own co-workers.
Yes, not all men but we have plenty of examples why it’s most of them.
Forest Ranger Officer (RFO) Deepali Chavan, known as “*Lady Singham*”, died by suicide . From a letter , directly sent to her husband and ms, Reddy, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, we get to know that she was physically and mentally abused by Vinod Shivkumar, Deputy Conservator of Forest.
In 1992,four upper caste men raped Bhanwari Devi to stop child marriage. This case resulted in making Vishakha Guidelines.
It’s very sad to declare that, despite of having POSH act( 2013) to protect women workers from sexual harassment which says to organize two committee in every company, having more than ten workers, to help the women who are facing sexual issues.
Whether it’s on field work on forest department or army or any business company, women mostly want to stay away from it and sexual harassment is obviously one of the causes. And yes, it’s the cruel reality of working women and their safety in today’s world.

In current time, at some workplaces women are much safer than before due to development of society and their is some kind of change we can see in mentality of our society that men and women both can go outside and earn money by being independent and confident. But safety of women at workplace is still not their in many places because in news channels there are highlight of sexual harassment, abuse and what not. Women are getting torture at workplace by giving them all work pressure. Women are not equally treated due to which they don’t get equal opportunity and it affect on their salary by not getting equal salary compare to men with having same skills and experience. They feel unfair and depressed by not treating them equally. There is lot of comparison between men and women at workplace that women has to listen. At workplace men can’t see women achievement towards work so they start passing comments and disrespect them. Because of which women become victim of sexual harassment. In companies there are employees who is boss favourite they also get into boss team and torture other employee because of which they go through with mental health. Women who face sexual harassment at workplace they need to learn self-defense to give them answer in their own way by not getting scared of such people. There is an advertising of women who face sexual harassment at workplace due to which she stop wearing fashion clothes and by getting enough of tolerance towards her boss. She decided to raise her voice against him. Like that women should take stand fight back with people who behave with disrespect. Never get scared of such people who torture you instead of being strong is the solution for people who create trouble in between your work.

Women’s safety is still the most important concern all over the world. Especially if we talk about the safety of a women in workplace various effective steps have been taken by our government with the passage of the time many new laws have been enacted for the same but all the efforts together are lacking as we have yet not achieved a secure environment for women.
As we all are aware of the fact that it was after the case of: vishakha and others vs. state of Rajasthan, that guidelines were issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India against the sexual harrasment at workplace.
In daily life women have to face many problems from traveling to the workplace till working their with the respective colleagues. In professionalism the principal to protect women from any kind of abuse is given priority but still Statics show us that every one out of three women are a victim of sexual offence in their workplace. Eve-teasing, outraging the modesty are some of the most reported incidents in workplace by women.
The government alone can’t resolve this problem, certain specific steps need to be taken by the basic small scale industries to the municipal corporations where women are employed. With the advancement of technology the cyber crimes are increasing significantly against women even in workplace, where personal data is being misused at a large scale by hackers which falls into the category of harassment.
Framing of stringent laws won’t alone serve the purpose but active implementation of the same is the need of the hour.

Just take a moment to look around. Women are not safe anywhere. Whether it’s their workplace or their own houses.
As women enter a workplace they are already entering an unequal landscape that has been traditionally believed to be ruled by men. There is prejudice treatment against them at the time of hiring. They are judged on the basis of their marital status. They are even paid much less than men despite being on the same position and doing the same kind of job. Pay raise or training opportunities are some other issues faced by women at work. They are often denied promotions being labelled as ‘women’- inefficient than men. All these practices preaches the idea of a women limited to being a mere ‘housewife’ serving her family. But there exists much bigger problems. The problem of their safety. Women at workplace often encounter sexual harassment which have now become so common that often women tend to ignore such treatments and do not report it due to the lack of support.
What we can to do to stop such incidents is have knowledge of our rights and duties. Men needs to be taught that women are to be respected, to be treated an equal and not be a treated as a toy. On the other hand, women needs to be made aware of their rights, they need to learn the facts and the prevalence. We must strive for equality and together fight for the injustices done to women.

In current times, women aren’t safe anywhere, be it outside or their own homes. So if we talk about workplace, the condition of women’s safety remains the same. The instances of sexual harassment at workplace are so very common in our society. We realised from the #metoo movement as well how unsafe women are in every sphere of their lives.

When it comes to work environment, women are often forced to form sexual relationships with their superior to get a promotion or some other benefits. These are called the cases of transactional sexual harassment and they are very common nowadays. There are also a lot of instances of women being the victims of improper behaviour from their male colleagues. So basically, women aren’t safe anywhere. They can’t even go to their workplace without fearing about their right to live with dignity and respect. No matter where they go, they are always viewed as objects to satisfy men’s sexual needs.

Women are not safe at their workplace. In today’s time when a woman is not safe at her home, I think it would be undoubtedly correct to expect that they are unsafe outside. They face harassment at their workplaces and it doesn’t matter whether they are helpers, employees or any other designation.
And the worse is that very few of them are reported. These are not reported sometimes because women don’t want to and most of the time because of family and societal pressure. This silence leads to crimes against women. And it’s not about the happening at the workplace, it happens everywhere whether she is a working or non-working woman. At malls, weddings, functions, etc. and even at religious places.
At workplaces, male colleagues touch their female colleagues inappropriately and on being answered back they deny by justifying their disgusting act. Molestation takes place in the name of promotions in organisations. These kinds of inhuman activities have to be stopped otherwise, women will never try to open their wings and fly high to achieve what they want from their lives. They wouldn’t support their daughters for opting for a career, seeing these problems at workplaces.
