DOES SOCIETY DISCRIMINATE AGAINST WOMEN WITH ADOPTED CHILDREN
Yes, society discriminates against women who adopt a child. Society has always something to say to women either she is doing something good and earning and managing everyone or even if she doesn’t do anything, all are ready with their unasked suggestions and advice.
If a woman wants to adopt there may be reasons like complications in pregnancy or not able to conceive but that doesn’t mean she is incapable or not at par with other women around her. And if a child is adopted it will be mutually decided between partners but discrimination still appears and they are taunted by not only outsiders but family members too.
Women as soon as married is expected to plan for the child and make a family so that society doesn’t talk ill about family and in-laws but her decisions are not considered and pressurize them for this. And above all, if she is unable to give birth due to some reasons then they blame her personally. Many people talk about adopting a child and growing them in as part of the family but in reality, very few do this.
Society still discriminates but there nothing that can stop women from doing some good work and by adopting she is giving life to an orphan which is not less than giving birth.
