Giving birth to a child is considered as the toughest task for a women, it is considered as painful as burning alive. Maternal health is the health of a woman during pregnancy, child birth and postpartum period. It encompasses the health care dimensions of family planning, preconception, prenatal and postnatal care in order to ensure a positive and fulfilling experience.
Maternal health revolves around the health and wellness of women, particularly when they are pregnant, at the time they give birth, and during child-raising. WHO has indicated that even though motherhood has been considered as a fulfilling natural experience that is emotional to the mother, a high percentage of women go through a lot of challenges where they suffer health-wise and sometimes even die.
Pregnancy is not an easy task, there exists a lot of sacrifices that a woman does while giving birth to a child, hair loss, dry skin, carrying a load in the belly is not an easy task, a woman has to take a lot of injections, she is the one sacrificing herself for a little one living inside her, sometimes even they can’t take medicines foe cough cold, as it could effect the baby’s health.
Today, in recent world, postnatal depression is a very common complication a woman faces, after giving birth to a child, she goes through a mental burden of being a mother too.
Maternal health both physical and mental is important because, a mother deserves care and love while she’s doing the toughest task of giving birth with a smile.
