Girls are weak, girls can’t fight, girls should contribute on house chores, girls need to be homely, this is what they think, girls are bound to do, also, boys are strong, boys should protect their sisters, boys can do go out at anytime of the day or night, this is what gender stereotypes look like. Our society have considered boys/men as the stronger section of the society and women/girls to be the weaker one since forever. Society’s mere thinking about the men being strong and women being weak has always led to creating hatred for women in the society i.e misogyny. A girl child being born has been a shame to the family! Why? Because a girl have always been considered as weak, a girl working late night has been a shame to the society! Why? Because she’s not supposed to be out for long, a girl standing on country border to protect the country has been a shame to the society! Why? Because she is not allowed to fight, she is supposed to act fragile. Actually, it was never a shame to society for women walking forward to what she is supposed to be, these are only the ways of criticizing women at every step they take, creating a barrier in their way to success has always been a fun game to the society. So, yes these gender stereotypes have been a success in creating a misogynistic society.
