There exists a lot of women who’ve been shining high in this country, they’ve been signifying there existence in such a way that the whole country is proud of them. Mother teresa, Indira Gandhi, kalpana chawla and many more of these women have made a difference in the society, but there exists another woman who’s worked hard to grow into something that the whole country is today proud of her. Ms. Ritu Rathee, a pilot, a mother, a wife and an influencer. She’s proved to the world that women are not made for the housework only. She is the one who belonged to a community who didn’t support girls much for their studies and dreams, the society disrespected her family for making their daughter study abroad and to such a high extent, but it was her who conquered her dreams and made her family proud of having her as a child.
“Daring is being yourself in front of everyone” – ritu rathee.

A role model is a person whose behaviour, example, or success is or can be emulated by others, especially by younger people. A female role model does not have to be a celebrity. She is ANY woman you look up to. She is a woman who makes a difference, whether it is in the little things she does in her everyday life or the grand gestures made in the public . Female role models are important for ambitious women. If we can’t look up and see women who have been successful, we are less likely to be successful ourselves. The presence of women in leadership positions and the opportunity to network with them is vital to helping motivate women to advance in their careers. Some of them are:-
1-Dhivya Suryadevara:-Paving the way for women to join the automobile industry on esteemed platforms, 39-year-old Dhivya Suryadevara was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer of General Motors .
2- Dipa Karmarkar:- The gymnast has entered the history books and with such grace too! The 24-year-old Olympic medallist who was once fearful of falling, swept the judges away with her amazing Produnova Vault, scoring 15.100 for the same .
3- Gita Gopinath :-Gita Gopinath’s appointment as the Chief Economist of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) makes her the second Indian and the first woman to assume the position. Her excellent skills and vast experience make her an excellent fit for the IMF.
4-Arunima Sinha :- A former national level volleyball player, Arunima was travelling in a train when a gang of goons demanded that she give them her gold chain. She refused, and this changed her life .The thieves pushed her out of the moving train, right when another train was passing. And she lost her legs .Taking inspiration from cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who is a cancer survivor, she decided to climb Mount Everest
5- Anjali Sud :- Anjali was ambitious, spontaneous and determined even as a 14-year-old. She had once applied to a boarding school in Massachusetts on a whim, and only once she started studying there, did she find out how tough the course was. But the lessons of hard work and determination that Anjali learned there would help her start fresh after the rejections from the investment firms.

Well I solely believe that India has only two things to be proud of :
    1)Beautiful tourism
    2) Courageous women
I really believe India is blessed with incredible women and strong women. Of Course I would say that India has failed to recognise both women and nature as different things anyways.
Well of the most inspirational women till now I found is Natasha Noel. She is just so wonderful and hats off to her she suffered so much and today she is healing a lot of people.
Natasha Noel is a fitness influencer and fitness coach. She was only five years old when she witnessed her mother committing suicide by burning herself in front of her. Her father was schizophrenic and couldn’t take care of her. Thus she was taken under the care of her paternal aunt. But life was not simple for her . When she was seven she was raped by her domestic helper’s son. She was playing with him and the next moment she suffered this violence. At that time the domestic helper shamelessly advised her to run off and marry her son if he loves her so much that nobody will want her. Later on she was sexually harassed by her family members and slowly this situation led her towards heavy depression. She smoked and drank like a crazy person and she would cut herself on her body. She blamed herself thinking that whatever happened to her she deserved it and her body was the reason why everything is happening with her. But one day she finally took a step as she had enough and was tired of everything happening to her and now she is one of the biggest digital influencers in India. She writes and talks about what people avoid to hear or turn blind eye to these issues. She is the biggest influencer today who makes girls realise the facts and it’s normal for girls to have sexual desires, pubic hair and stretch marks.

I believe that role models make a very big difference in our lives. I think of them as examples to be emulated. A girl or a woman who has grown up with the examples set by female role models will know exactly what is expected of her, so she does not have to waste time and energy on wondering whether things are rightful or not. If she has the right role models, she will know that it is perfectly okay and natural for her to go out there and do certain things with her life. Today’s generation is known for bringing in a lot of equality in their views. An ambitious woman is no longer considered to be taboo. Many young girls have now enviable female role models to follow.

With this in mind let’s take a look at one of the biggest female role models of India.
    1. Kalpana Chawla: Kalpana was an American astronaut who achieved a great feat by becoming the first Indian-born woman in space. Her achievement places her as one among the famous female avatars of the nation who has made international achievements. She is also popularly known for her heroic role in the ill-fated Space Shuttle Columbia disaster, where she lost her life, saving many other members of the crew.
    2. Hima Das: Achievements like Hima Das’ call for introspection and self-analysis. We often believe that it is our circumstances that dictate our outcomes, but it’s just not true. It’s how we view these circumstances and how we apply our circumstances that matters most. There are lots of people who have failed to make a difference in the world because they were trying to be like someone else instead of trying to be themselves. Hima Das is a perfect example of why it is important to avoid imitating others and simply do your best. Hima Das is so talented that she doesn’t have to try especially hard to succeed, which means that her success is no accident.
    3. PT Usha: Usha’s story is the story of a remarkable woman and her relentless pursuit of excellence. It is the story of someone who stood up for what she believed in, fought against all odds, and to date goes to show that persistence can go a long way. Usha is a former Indian track and field athlete from Kerala. She is the first Indian to win a medal in an international athletics event, the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi, where she won the bronze medal in the 400 m hurdles event. In 1983, Usha became the first Indian woman to cross the 38-second barrier in an individual event (400 m hurdles) while setting a new national record of 37.74 seconds at Seoul, South Korea on 10 September.

Everybody has his or her role models. They are people from our past, our community, and the national leaders, cultural icons, public figures, and celebrities who influence us and inspire us to work for a better tomorrow. Role models show you what you could begin to become with just a little help from someone. They’re the ones who took their lives into their own hands and made something of it. Once you find a role model, you’ll start seeing that same potential in yourself.

    Indian female role models
India is suffering from many viruses other than Covid-19, one of them being gender discrimination. Living in the 21st century has made no difference to one’s society and this is what is affecting our women negatively as it always has. Despite the limitations that the society imposes on women, the hardships they have to face in their daily life, the discrimination that pulls them down at every step of life, women never give up. They are strong individuals, bold enough to become what they have dreamed of. Women in India have some kind of a spark in them and they make great role models. From the ancient historic period till date, we have a history of strong, bold and highly influential women in each and every field. Talking about history, Rani Laxmi Bai, also known as Manikarnika Tambe or Jhansi ki Rani is one of the most talked about Indian freedom fighters. She broke barriers back then in the 19th century and became a leading figure in the freedom struggle, the revolt of 1857 was led by her and she terrified the British. Another mother, Mary Kom is the only female boxer to have won the World Boxing Championship title six times. She has a record of winning eight medals in World Championships and has also been awarded the Padma Vibhushan. From the services, we have Kiran Bedi, who is not only a mother, but also a politician, a social activist, a tennis player, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and the first woman to become an officer in the Indian Police Service. She has not only rendered justice to many, but also been a great human. Another such female role model is Lakshmi Agarwal. She is an acid attack survivor but she does not reflect that in her aura at all. She encourages women and says that more than the face, one’s dreams and desires will take one ahead in life. She is also the founder of the NGO, Chhanv Foundation which helps and empowers acid attack survivors. Another woman who is a role model for me, is my mother, in fact every mother out there, who works, handles the household, takes responsibility of each and every person in a family and carries that out like a pro. Each and every woman out there is not only a source of inspiration for a number of people, but also positivity. Let us thank all these women by respecting them and accepting them the way they are in the society, for lighting up India and making it how much ever great and marvelous it is today.
    A woman myself,
    Shubhangini Shaktawat
