We all know Malala Yousafzai as the woman who speaks for women equality and education. Malala is the youngest person ever to win the Nobel Peace Prize and has become well known in the international community for her diary about life under Taliban rule. Since then she became a notable activists who speaks for education and equality around the world.
Malala was born in Mingora, Pakistan on July 12,1997. As a child Malala loved school but everything changed when Taliban took control of her town. In 2012, she spoke out publicly on behalf of girls and their right to education and the Talibani’s made her a target. One day on her way home from school, a masked gunman boarded her school bus and she was shot on the head. After months of surgery, rehabilitation and prayers of her supports and loved ones she joined her family in their new home in the U.K. It was then, Malala knew that she could either sit quietly at her home and enjoy her new life or rather use this privilege to continue her fight for equality of women in education. Since then, Malala Yousafzai have never missed out an opportunity to speak up for the rights of women. Yousafzai is currently studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford.
